One of our favorite pastimes here in Hawaii is stopping whatever we are doing at the time to watch the sunset, and if you are lucky, witnessing the “green flash”. It is a brief flash of green light that appears when the sun sinks below the horizon. I always miss it. I’m also a bit suspicious that most people who see it have a Mai Tai in their hand. So I decided to start my own “urban myth”. I say the Green Flash is simply a mermaid returning home after a day of sun and swimming with the dolphins!!!
