Every year I do an original work of art commemorating the Ironman World Championship, which takes place literally at the front door of the gallery. For 2015 my theme was “The Journey to Kona”. Everyone who reaches this point in their journey has a story. A story of persistence, a story of joy, a story of sacrifice, a story of commitment. It makes me think of the ancient Polynesians who somehow made their way to what is now called Hawaii. They came in sailing canoes using only their strength and the stars to find their way to Kona. Your journey is your own story that will live on forever.
