“Honu” is a well loved and well respected half distance triathlon that takes place on the Kohala Coast every summer…Now know as IM 70.3 Hawaii , athletes and locals alike still refer to it simply as “Honu”. This Honu features a swimming biker and runnerwithin it’s shell.

I have been doing these 3-D collages for a while….i LOVE them… first I hand draw the subject in colored pencil and ink, then have a very limited number of prints made on very heavy soft watercolor paper. Then I hand color the print in colored pencil ( color on top of color) then I accent the entire thing in gold leaf. Next I cut it out with an Xacto knife and mount it using acid free spacers, onto a background I have handpainted in acrylic gouche ( which is a very flat highly pigmented paint) . WHEW!! I sell them in order I create them so you will get the lowest number I have at that time. They are limited to and edition of 100.

This collage comes double matted in black and framed in a very unique Hawaiian petroglyph frame and measures 20x20
